I follow a specific diet, can you provide meals that are suited to my requirements?

All the meals we serve during the course are vegetarian and can easily be made 100% plant-based, so if you are a vegan, there is no problem at all. On the other hand, if you have coeliac disease or are gluten-intolerant, we can cater for you as well without any issues. If you are on the FODMAP Diest, have IBS or specific food allergies, let us know and we’ll work out a solution for you, most ingredients can be replaced or removed.

Everything is possible, but we will not cater special meals for students who simply ¨don´t like¨ what’s on the menu! Our meals are carefully prepared to give you a balanced diet for the activities that compromise the course.

Do you offer airport pick-up and drop-off?

Once you’ve finished the registration process, you can request for an airpot pick-off from all area airports; Puerto Vallarta International Airport - PVR (San Francisco, Nayarit location), Puerto Escondido International Airport - PXM (Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca location) and other nearby airports.

Yoga related questions

I am a complete Yoga beginner, can I still join your course?

The 200hrs Yoga TTC has no technical entry levels requirements, other than commitment, dedication and passion. However, regular active physical activity is need to endure the practice; once you have enrolled, we do recommend you practice as much Yoga as you can before coming to Mexico. This includes; asana, meditation and pranayama.

As the course is physically and mentally pretty intense, the fitter you are at the start of the course, the easier it will be on you. We do not impose a minimum experience in yoga because this is a foundational course and some students choose to join us for their own development, not for the teaching certificate. We believe that if you love and have a dedicated practice yoga, you will teach once you are ready anyway, whether you hold a registered certificate and can do a handstand or not. It is the experience and not the piece of paper that makes you a teacher.

Other special retreats do not require previous Yoga experience. Make sure to review each courses individual profile.

There are some of our courses that do require previous Yoga experience, only students that match the criteria are eligible to participate. Make sure to review each courses individual profile.

Are the courses only for Yoga Teachers? Do I need to want to become a Yoga Teacher to participate in a course?

This only applies to certified courses, all retreats are not certified and open to the general public.

Our most basic course, the 200hr Yoga TTC is not only for future teachers. There are plenty of valid reasons to join a Yoga TTC, some students just wish to deepen their knowledge in order to transform the personal lives. While others look forward to share their knowledge in their communities or explore the world by doing so.

Are all courses certifies with Yoga Alliance? Am I registered with Yoga Alliance?

TRIMURTI is a certified Yoga School with Yoga Alliance USA. We offer various certification levels:

  • RYS 200
  • RYS 300
  • RPYS

Please review each courses individual profile to verify the certification given at the time of completion.

Am I registered with Yoga Alliance once I get my teaching certificate?

Once you graduate from our course, you will get a certificate confirming that you have completed the certification (example: 200-hour multi-style yoga teacher training course) with Trimurti Yoga Mexico. This allows you to teach and get a professional insurance all over the world without further ado.

Our programs are recognised by Yoga Alliance in the United States. You can choose whether you want to become a member of Yoga Alliance US and be listed in their registry. Some employers may require that you register with a (national) yoga association such as the Yoga Alliance, but if you are your own boss, you don’t need to. Most yoga associations around the world will also recognise the Yoga Alliance US standards that our trainings are based on, so with our certificate you should be able to join most yoga associations.

I already know my path of Yoga, should I choose a specific course? What would be the benefits of joining a multi-style teacher training for me?

If you wish to study one particular style in depth, including its philosophy, its teaching methodolody and other aspects, teacher trainings such as Yin Yoga, Prenatal, Sivananda, Kundalini, Iyengar or Bikram courses should be part of your learning.

Our 200-hour yoga teacher training program however is an foundational course that is open to everybody. We believe that broadens your horizon, even if you are dedicated to a certain style. It will give you insights into traditions that you may not have considered before and we don’t restrict you in any way. On the contrary, we encourage development of your own style. We focus on general safety, alignment and teaching skills that are of use in any kind of yoga teaching. Ultimately, all yoga comes from the same source and once your know that source, you should choose your own path.

Do I have to attend all the classes to get my certificate?
YES We require 100% attendance. In exceptional cases, you can make up for a missed class or lecture through additional homework or assignments but this only allowed if announced in advance and with approval from the main teacher or in case of medical emergencies.
Do I need to bring my own Yoga mat?
YES You should definitely bring your own mat unless you want to use one of our old, spare mats, left behind by guests or teachers and don’t mind rolling around in unknown peoples sweat and dirt. We only, have some a few and some are about to die.Another option is would be for us to buy you a mat, let us know in advance, we will work out a solution based on your budget (you refund in cash upon arrival)
I am pregnant, can I join a Yoga Teacher Training?
NOMaybe. If you did not have a regular yoga asana practice before you got pregnant, now may not be the best time for you to find out if you can handle four hours of physical yoga practice per day. You may want to have a look at our retreat programs instead.YESIf you were already practicing yoga before you got pregnant, continuing your yoga practice during our training is not a problem. Be sure you let us know you are pregnant and that your doctor has no objections either. If you feel fit enough to join an intense 12-hours a day study and practice program, we welcome you with open arms, with the understanding that we ask all our students, pregnant or not, to not exhaust themselves and respect their own body. We do however require an equal amount of dedication and commitment from all our trainees, as the entire course is also a group effort.
I have a chronic condition (e.g. fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes), can I still join your training?

Yes, if you are fit enough to participate in an intensive course of 12 hours per day. We would absolutely LOVE it if you could join, assuming that you are in a condition to travel and are willing to take full responsibility of your health during the course. We have no medical care in the vicinity, so you must be able to manage your condition and medication.

We certainly do not want to pretend that our program is lighter than it is, but we do believe that this world needs more yoga teachers that intimately know their own capabilities and limitations. As yoga becomes increasingly popular, we feel that the people spreading the passion and the knowledge of yoga need to represent the population average and this includes people with conditions and disabilities. Knowing how to deal with physical challenges gives you an enormous advantage as a teacher in terms of understanding, empathy and acceptance as well as determination and discipline. Karo, the founder of Trimurti Yoga, suffers from severe Type I Diabetes since the age of 17 and it certainly hasn’t stopped her from achieving her yoga goals!

Can I teach Yoga after the course?

Upon successful completion of the 200hrs Yoga TTC, you will be able to teach Yoga worldwide. Here at TRIMURTI Yoga, we extend the opportunity to grow within our family through internships and latter carrier opportunities.

The same rule applies for continuing education programs (Yin Yoga, Prenatal ) and for 300hrs Yoga TTC.

Student Stories
I just finished my 200TTC in Goa with Trimurti and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The staff and teachers were amazing! The course content was incredible, it was an intense course but I have really walked away feeling like I have learned a lot! We started the course as 31 strangers and by the end we left as part of the Trimurti family. The owners are so knowledgable and have really built something magical with their dream. The banana bread for breakfast was absolutely tops. If someone could please send me a recipe I would be forever grateful haha! Thanks guys! See you sometime again for the 300TTC!
