Kids Yoga- Airplane Pose

Airplane Pose for Kids:

Kids love to fly! Make airplane noises, make this pose fun for kids and help them to build balance and concentration through this one!

  1. Stand tall.
  2. Stretch your arms out to either side of your body.
  3. When you feel balanced, lean forward and lift one leg straight behind you.
  4. If you are stable twist your body to one side opening the chest and hips to the right (or left) – this is Ardha Chandrasana (half moon pose). It is a nice transition for more advanced and older kids and it teaches them to control the balance in a difficult situation. In your storytelling, you can guide kids that their plane is turning right or left to change the Azymut.
  5. Repeat with the other leg.

Benefits:

Besides balance and concentration, it also helps kids strengthening their bodies and increases the body awareness.
